My name is one of the hardest names for none Arabic speakers, I have had hard times trying to teach people how to pronounce it. I reached a point where if any one calls me with a name that is of the same root of mine or sounds like it I just reply….
My names:
-غياث , that’s the Arabic spelling…
- Ghiathe, my official spelling that is a French spelling and that explains the “e” at the end.
-Ghayath, the English spelling and the one I used to use before joining UoS.
-גיאת, in Hebrew, pronounced Geyat.
-GK, what my friends call me; it’s actually my initials.
-G, another one of my names. I love this the most.
-GeeKoo, pronounced jeekoo, what my close friend call me with when they need something.
-GeeKs, pronounced jeekz, I just call myself that.
-Ghaysoo, my cousins call me that.
-Ghayasoo, that’s how my aunts call me.
-Ghayth, people who still don’t know me well.
-Gillette, by my teacher…
-Riyadh, what non Arabs first call me…. I don’t want anyone to call me with that name.
-Riyaz, just like the above.

7. and about me :: i hate ppl who write my name with “i” ” widad” and who write one “d” in wedo coz its weddo ..

I just grabbed this out of the dictionary:
غِيَاثٌ – [غ ي ث]. (مص. غَاثَ). “يَنْتَظِرُ غِيَاثاً” : إِعَانَةً وَنُصْرَةً، أَيْ مَا يُغَاثُ بِهِ الْمُضْطَرُّ مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ نَجْدَةٍ.
or basically: aid, help, relief!!! I don’t know exactly why my dad chose this name. He was thinking of Daniel!!!
Then, add to your list the Persians will call you : vedod!!!

Well, e7middi rabik!!! vedad or vidod are only different pronunciations of your name: Wedad to Vedad to Vedod, the basic structure is still there
But how on earth is Ghiathe compared to Riyadh!!!
